Question for you though - We all do our competitive research to find keywords that we think will bring in the money, we also use tools such as Market Samurai to gauge the OCI and SEOV of a keyword.  

I usually use tools like KeywordSpy to see if other companies are advertising on the keywords I intend to target.  

But in the mind of a innovator/ master SEO, what is the best strategy that you use to determine the value of a keyword?  I know you tweak and test from analytics, that is a necessity.  But prior to setting up the architecture of the site, how do you begin your journey?

Any help would be appreciated.

		<description>You are totally correct. We have had a number of top ten rankings for long tail keywords and found that not all keywords are created equal. In fact only a very small number of phrases are worth any time at all. The commerciality of those words needs to be analyzed before you invest any of your time our resources into ranking for it.</description>
